What to Expect
This tournament should showcase some of the worlds best and most entertaining hockey players on the planet. Some all-star caliber players are ineligible to play given their countries of origin, including Russia.
Will this tournament be played with the intensity of past Canada Cup Championships and the Olympic Games? Probably not given that the NHL’s final push in the regular season is underway and the playoffs are just around the corner. No one wants to get injured at this point.
But, this will be more entertaining and competitive than an All-Star game format. Perhaps this should be an annual event, adding one or two teams of players from other countries not included in this format.
Certainly a preview of the upcoming Olympic games and a try-out of sorts for current players to make a case of being included on their respective Olympic teams.
Should be much fun to watch. High caliber skills. And NHL teammates playing against each other for bragging rights. And hey, with players putting on their nations colours, One can expect some edgy play.
Picking Canada to beat the United States in the Finals. Both teams to have home ice advantage which should be a factor.
Go Canada Go.

Greetings. In introducing myself, I must relate that family is most important. I am a husband, father and grandfather. Beautiful extended family. I was born in the 60’s. Graduated from Laurentian University in Sudbury in 1985 with a degree in Social Work. Recently retired.
Sports has been and continues to be my foremost outlet for stress. I have been a coach/ trainer on over 40 youth teams, including hockey, baseball and soccer. Hockey is my number one sport. Began playing as a young child and continue to play several times per week. Huge Fan. I am not an expert per say when it comes to having close contacts to the hockey world. Still have expertise as a Fan. I have probably earned some form of “Hockey PTSD” over the years with the highs and lows of the cheering for the Leafs. I want to respectfully share my opinion and respectfully view your opinions. Should be fun. Keep your stick on the ice.
Take Care and Stay Safe.
